WEST, A. DAWN (nee Jones) 1930 - 2015 Dawn died peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 28th, 2015, in her 86th year. Devoted and loving wife for 62 years to Bruce West of Gravenhurst, formerly of Mississauga. Dearest mother of Susan VanGerven (Bill) of Gravenhurst and Robert West (Tracy) of Georgetown. Cherished grandmother of David Speicher (Erin) of Toronto, Jennifer Speicher (Zac) of Toronto, Andrew and Samantha West of Georgetown and Joshua VanGerven of Gravenhurst. Proud great-grandmother of Nathan and Jacob Speicher of Toronto. Sister-in-law of Margaret West (and her recently deceased husband, Earl) of London, ON, William West (late Ena West) of Mississauga and Irma Kelsey (late Robert) of Barrie. Aunt Dawn will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Dawn taught in the Scarborough and North York School Boards during the 50's and 60's. Brownie Leader and Guide Captain for many years in Mississauga. Sunday School Superintendent at Erindale Presbyterian Church for 15 years. Dawn obtained her B.A. degree at the age of 54, majoring in Anthropology and Greek and Roman Religion. She led craft classes at James Street Place in Bracebridge for several years. Until her demise, she enjoyed doing craft work, especially card making, which she shared with her many friends and family, especially at Christmas. In keeping with Dawn's wishes cremation has taken place and a gathering to celebrate her life is planned for Saturday June 4th, 2016 at her and Bruce's home in Gravenhurst.
