Allan's journey began as a mechanic in the Canadian Air Force. His military service was a source of immense pride for him. He diligently served his country and demonstrated unwavering commitment throughout his time in the Canadian Air Force.

After retiring from military service as a chief warrant officer, Allan embraced his role as a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. His marriage to his late wife, Joeann Eastman, was an extraordinary testament to their profound love and unwavering commitment to one another. The bond they shared was evident in every aspect of their relationship.

Family was of utmost importance to Allan. He was a pillar of strength that his children could always rely on. Douglas, Carol-Ann, Suzann, and William were fortunate to have such a remarkable father who provided endless support and guidance throughout their lives. Allan's presence enriched their experiences and helped shape them into the individuals they are today.

Allan's grandchildren were truly blessed to have him as their grandfather. Karl, Whitney, Christine, Katherine, Richard, Michael, Maghen, Genevieve, Madeleine,  Ryan, Joshua, Ryan, and Sheldon cherished every moment they spent with him. His love for them was immeasurable; he showered them with affection and imparted invaluable wisdom upon them. Their memories with Poppy will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Beyond his commitments to family and military service, Allan had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He had a green thumb and found solace in gardening. His ability to nurture plants reflected his nurturing nature towards those around him.

An avid Legion member, Allan was deeply involved in the community and actively contributed to the well-being of his fellow veterans. He understood the importance of maintaining a strong bond with his comrades and worked tirelessly to support and uplift them.

In addition, Allan had a passion for traveling. He embraced the opportunity to explore new places and immerse himself in different cultures. From Bullhead, Arizona, to Gulf Shores, Alabama, Allan found joy in experiencing new environments. His adventures extended to Europe, where he traveled extensively throughout countries like Germany, Switzerland, Greece, and France. Each trip allowed him to broaden his horizons and create memories that would be cherished forever.

Allan's proudest accomplishments were not measured by accolades or material possessions but by the love he shared with those closest to him. His dedication to family was unmatched. His military service represented more than just a career; it demonstrated his selflessness and commitment to serving others.

On September 24, 2023, a Graveside Service will be held in honor of Allan Roger Sopher's life at Symington Cemetery, Gravenhurst, ON. Family members, friends, and loved ones will gather to pay their final respects and celebrate the extraordinary life that Allan lived.

As we bid farewell to Allan, let us remember him as a loving husband, devoted father, proud military man, and cherished friend.
