On the afternoon of Saturday, July 25, 2026, Betty Vajda passed away peacefully at Andy's House Hospice Muskoka. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, she spent her final moments resting on the deck with the sun shining, birds chirping, and a gentle breeze blowing. Betty was in her 79th year.

Beloved wife of 61 years to Joe Vajda, Betty was the heart of her family and a source of unwavering love and support to those who knew her.

She will be deeply missed by her children Tammy (Dale), Lori (Rick), and Joey; her cherished grandchildren Andrew (Lyndsey), Matthew (Keisha), Lucas (Peta), Brandon, and Kara; and her beloved great-grandchildren Rhett and Colton. Betty is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Delma, Brenda, Georgina, and Janet, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Amelia Matheson; her sisters Dorothy, Evelyn, Inez, Arlene, Marilyn, Carol, Roberta, Linda, and Violet; and her brothers Arthur and Robert.

Betty found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed exercising, cycling, gardening, and sewing, and took great pride in keeping active throughout her life. More than anything, Betty treasured time spent with family and friends, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Betty spent many years employed in the manufacturing industry. Later in life, she joined the team at Tim Hortons, where her speed, energy, and strong work ethic earned her the affectionate nickname "The Hustler." Her determination and spirited personality left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Betty will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, sense of humour, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the family she loved so dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held starting at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Ryan and Rebecca’s, 1593 Doe Lake Rd. Gravenhurst P1P 1R3.
