Charles "Charlie" Maurice Wood passed away at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 15, 2026, the same hospital where he was born on April 28, 1937.

Charlie is survived by his wife Doreen (nee Greenhalgh), children Debbie Merkel, Ron (Debbie), Linda Hudson (Mark), and Steven (Laurie), as well as his sister, Vera. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Charlie was predeceased by his parents, William and Edith (Wilcox),  as well as siblings, Roy, Norma, Ida, Ivan, Stella, and Herb.

Charlie was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting, sometimes even more than going to work. Over the years, he had numerous jobs, but his main job was at Oliver McLeods in Gravenhurst, where he became a foreman. 

In keeping with Charlie's wishes, cremation has taken place, and he will be laid to rest in Lutheran Cemetery in Kilworthy. A celebration of life may take place at a later time.
