Charlotte Klara Tumler passed away at Andy’s House – Hospice Muskoka on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the age of 82. Charlotte was the beloved wife of her husband of over 60 years, Norbert Tumler.

Charlotte is lovingly remembered by Claudia Tumler, and son‑in‑law, Konstantin Zangers. Her grandchildren Sarah, Markus, and Richard, and her great‑grandson Grayson, whom she adored with all her heart. She will also be missed by extended family in Canada and Germany, including siblings, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Charlotte was born in Braunschweig, Germany, on June 22, 1944, to parents Heinrich and Lieselotte Sommer. Growing up in post‑war Germany shaped her resilience, practicality, and strong sense of family—qualities she carried throughout her life.

Charlotte immigrated to Canada and met Norbert, who also came from Germany. Together they built a life rooted in hard work, hospitality, and devotion to their family. They eventually settled in the beautiful town of Gravenhurst, Ontario, where they spent many years surrounded by nature, community, and family.

She was an intense, devoted, vigilant, loving, and caring woman. Although she lived with serious illness and constant pain for many years, she never spoke of her own suffering. Instead, she carried the pain of others—always worrying about their well‑being, always putting their needs ahead of her own.

Even when she could no longer walk, she would babysit her great‑grandson. Her love for him—and for her granddaughter—was unwavering. She gave everything she had, every day, without hesitation, and never asked for anything in return.

Charlotte was a true people person—warm, friendly, and genuinely liked by everyone who met her. She loved being with people and being surrounded by others. She was selfless to her core, caring deeply for her family and friends, and always showing love through her actions. Her quiet strength, loyalty, and compassion defined her life.

Charlotte enjoyed cooking and baking, especially traditional German dishes. She loved playing "Mensch ärgere dich nicht" and other board games. She always maintained contact with relatives and friends overseas and in Canada—she was a real family person.

A private funeral service will be held to honour her life. Memorial donations made to Andy’s House – Hospice Muskoka would be appreciated and may be arranged online, or through Cavill Funeral Home.
