Doris Ann Shea

Betty Doris Ann Shea, Passed peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville, Ontario, in her 92nd year.

Beloved wife of the late Arthur John Shea. Cherished mother of Albert Jeffrey Shea and his wife Angie, and Bradley Charles Shea and his wife Deborah.

Doris was a proud grandmother to the late Lucas Shea, Dana Gliddon (Luke), Steven Gliddon, and Julie Beck (Sean). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Ethan Holmes, Isabella Taylor, Jack Taylor, Sean Taylor, Abigail Taylor, and Evelyn Taylor.

She was the dear sister of: the late Jack Holmes (late Vivian), late Margie Kreller (late Fritz), late Chuck Holmes (Marilyn), Jean Pickles (late Jack), late Bob Holmes (Rosemary), Anita McQuaid (late Ron), Herb Holmes (Karen), and late Eileen Kerr (late Ron).

Doris’s life was enriched by the care and friendship of Pastors Phil and Karen Tomasetti and the congregation of Gateway Ministries, Gravenhurst, the staff of Rogers Cove Retirement Home, Algonquin Grace Hospice, and the dedicated doctors Dr. Virendranath and Dr. Maxim from the Cottage Country Health Team.

A woman of deep faith and unwavering kindness, Doris loved spending time with family and friends. She had a gift for making people feel happy and loved. Her hobbies included knitting, puzzles, and word games, and she delighted in bringing joy to children. Fiercely independent, Doris raised two rambunctious boys into successful men and never missed a birthday or graduation for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
