HANCOCK, Dorothea Janet (nee Thomson) Veteran of WW II, Royal Canadian Air Force Long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #302, Gravenhurst. Peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Monday, September 8, 2014 with her loving family at her side. Dorothea Janet Hancock beloved wife of the late Ross Alan Hancock who predeceased Dorothea on March 12, 2008. Beloved mother of James and his wife Anne Marie, Susanne, Joanne and her husband Howie Peers, David and his wife Elaine and Steven and his wife Barbara. Beloved grandmother to Stephanie and her husband David, Michael and his wife Sandra and Margaret. Great grandmother to Rebecca and Matthew. Dorothea is predeceased by her sister Agnes V. Long and by her brothers Thomas A. Thomson and Joseph A. Thomson. The family will receive friends at the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home , Gravenhurst on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 2 -4 & 7-9 P.M. A Legion service of remembrance will be held in the chapel on Friday evening at 7:30 p. m. Parish prayers will be recited in the chapel on Friday evening at 8:00 p. m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Gravenhurst on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 1:00 p. m. Interment will take place at Mickle Memorial Cemetery, Gravenhurst.
