Edgar Gallant

Edgar Joseph Gallant-passed away surrounded by his loving family at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in his 85th year. Loving father of Roger (Suzanne), Deborah and Ross (Donna), cherished grandfather to Jennifer (Jon), Steven-Ross (Jessica), Gordon, Andrea and Britney and great grandfather to Dylan, Ella, Avery, Annabel and Jude, brother to Bernice (Jackie) and Delma (Al) and survived by the mother of his children, Evelyn (nee Ford) Gallant. Edgar will be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Cyrus and brothers: Alfred, Edmund, Everett, Lawrence, Walter and Elmer. Edgar was born in Bloomfield, P.E.I. and moved to Toronto as a young man. His trade was an auto mechanic, but his talents extended to repairing almost anything, helping family members to build their h homes, and lending a hand whenever a friend or relative would call. His honesty and integrity were above reproach. Edgar took an early retirement and moved to Muskoka where he enjoyed gardening, taking long walks and enjoying the company of his friends and family. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of South Muskoka Memorial Hospital for their support. Per Edgar's wishes, there will be no services held and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation , The Salvation Army or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
