Frances Ure

Frances Ure passed away at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the age of 86. Beloved wife for over 65 years to Jim Ure.

Frances was the loving mother of JR Ure (Jadine) and Jackie Ingram (Don). Beloved Grandmother of Amanda Boland (Mike), Amy Hunter (Brandon), Samantha Turner (Derek), Erika Ingram (Andrew), and Leigh Ingram (Eric). In more recent years, Frances has welcomed seven great-grandchildren into the world. She is survived by her sister Evelyn Callan of Milton. She will also be missed by her furry companion, her cat Polly.

Frances was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and later immigrated to Canada, where she met Jim. They spent most of their lives in Gravenhurst. In her working life, she had a career as an insurance agent, serving her community.

Frances was a cheeky lady. She held onto her sense of humour right up until the very end, including joking with the paramedics on her way to the hospital. She enjoyed her time outdoors in the fresh air and spending time in her swimming pool. While indoors, she loved her time spent knitting and crocheting, as well as doing her crossword puzzles.

As per her wishes, no services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to OSPCA Muskoka Animal Centre and would be appreciated by the family.
