It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald G. Holmes, age 83, on September 27, 2026. Born to Arthur and Ida Holmes (née Middlebrooks), Gerald was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help anyone in need.

Gerald was predeceased by his brothers Percy (Fern) and Kenny (Joan), and will be fondly missed by his sisters Doreen (Carl), Linda (Bob), and Patsy (John).

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Nola; daughters Lisa and Sherry; stepchildren Vanessa and Aaron; grandchildren Kristen, Michelle, Dakota, Megan, Amy, David, Jenny; and great-grandchildren Ayden, Landen, Theo, Koah, Levi, Elias, Branden, Brielle, and Louise.

A true trickster, Gerald loved pulling a good ol’ practical joke. Pull one over on him, though, and that glint in his eye told you to sleep with yours open. He had a wonderful sense of humor to anyone who knew him.

Gerald was the owner of Jobs of All Sorts Limited for many years and took pride in helping others whenever he could.

He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with his wife, Nola, for 26 years. He loved to sing along and share scriptures from the Bible, and his faith was an important part of his life.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Celebration of life will be held on October 24, 2026 at the Severn Bridge Women’s Institute 1035 Southwood Rd, Severn Bridge.
