Heather passed away at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the age of 75.
Heather was the beloved wife and devoted companion of Robert "Bob" Mark for nearly 60 wonderful years. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering support for one another. Their partnership was one of true friendship and devotion, sharing life's joys and challenges side by side.
Loving mother of Lee-Ann Cooke (Chris), Dawn Fernie (Derek), and Robert Mark. Cherished grandmother of Ethan, Jessie, Connor, Jackson, and Mason, and proud great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Heather dedicated her career to caring for others. She worked as a nurse at Richmond Hospital and later at Newmarket Hospital, before continuing her calling through home care nursing. Her compassion, kindness, and commitment to serving others left a lasting impact on the many patients and families she cared for throughout her career.
Known for being a bit of a night owl, Heather found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching movies, playing the piano, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her beloved dogs. While she was generally quiet and serious in nature, those who knew her well appreciated her wonderful sense of humour, which always appeared at just the right moment.
Above all else, Heather treasured time spent with her family. Whether gathered for celebrations, everyday visits, or simply sharing stories and laughter, these moments meant the world to her and created memories that will be lovingly remembered.
Heather's kindness, strength, and gentle presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family appreciates the love and support shown during this difficult time.
Forever loved, always remembered. ❤️
