James Webster

September 14, 1933 — September 3, 2017

James (Jim) Webster Jim passed peacefully on Sunday September 3rd surrounded by members of his family at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) in Bracebridge. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Helen Elizabeth (2007) and by his loved and cherished daughter Stacey Ann Farrington (May 2017). Loved and respected Father-in-law of Gary Farrington and proud Grandfather to his three beautiful grandchildren, Dylan, Raquel (and partner Braeden) and Kate Farrington. Also esteemed Brother-in- Law to Jim and Anna McConnach of Bracebridge and much loved Uncle to Anna Louise, John and Jacob. Jim was born in September 1933 near Edinburgh, Scotland. His family emigrated to Canada in the early 50s. He was a fierce Canadian, spending most of his life in the Toronto area as a dedicated long-service employee of Bell Canada. After retirement Helen and Jim retired to Gravenhurst to enjoy the beauty and peace of Muskoka. Jim was an avid soccer enthusiast, being a youth league soccer referee, team and club manager and Toronto & District league administrator. Jim was a very loving, caring, unassuming and much respected gentleman who in his latter years loved listening to classical music and taking long walks with his companion canine Sophie. He had a unique sense of humour and always quietly enjoyed the company of others. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends everywhere. Many thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at SMMH who cared for Jim during his final hours. Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Charity of your choice.
