Obituary

Peacefully at Andy's House - Hospice Muskoka on July 4th, at the age of 71. Joanne Margaret Kerrigan was the daughter of the late Jack and Dorothy (Burbidge) Goldthorpe of Gravenhurst and the younger sister of Brother John.

The beloved wife of Ron Kerrigan and the dedicated, loving mother of Kristopher and his wife Holly (Tyrkus) Kerrigan. She was the proud Grandma of Khloe, Ayla and Brayden. They were the light of her life. We are so blessed to have them living right across the road where we can watch them play and visit Grandma and Papa whenever they like.

Joanne was born November 23, 1954, in Nashville, Ontario. Her early childhood was spent happily on a market garden farm near Bolton Ontario. Later the family moved to Etobicoke, where she attended Silver Throne Collegiate. In 1977 she moved with her parents to Gravenhurst ON, where she met her future husband, Ron Kerrigan. After 11 years, their greatest joy was realized with the birth of their son Kristopher, nothing gave her greater pleasure than proudly raising Kristopher. Her other great joy was caring for the myriads of dogs and cat over the years. She will be especially missed by Tucker, her dog, and Dash, her cat. Joanne will be sorely missed by her dear friends, Donna, Brenda, Anne, and Christine, who just recently passed.

We wish to extend our deepest thanks to the staff at Andy's House - Hospice Muskoka in Port Carling. The attention, care, and compassion of EVERY employee made this difficult journey so much easier to bear. We would also like to thank Care Partners (Liz), Closing the Gap (Karen) and Friends (Erica, Barbara and Alex).

A Memorial Service will be held at Cavill Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2026, with visitation from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, and service beginning at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Andy's House - Hospice Muskoka (https://www.hospicemuskoka.com/donate) or the charity of your choice.
