Joyce Vivian Thain (nee Goerk) It is with great sadness that the Thain family announces the passing of Joyce Vivian Thain peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 with her loving family at her side. Joyce has now joined her beloved husband Douglas who was the love of her life and predeceased her on May 31, 2016. Joyce was the cherished mother to Carolyn Thain, Kathy McCauley, Colleen (Greg) Knapp and Paul Thain all of Gravenhurst. Much loved grandmother to Jeff (Kirsten) Knapp of Gravenhurst and Jonathan McCauley of Orillia. Great grandmother to Kenzie Grove. Beloved sister to Alex and Leona Goerk of Aurora. Joyce was predeceased by Agnes McFarland, Bill & Agnes Thain and Jean and Buck Zinnani and by Doreen Everest. Aunt Joyce will be fondly remembered and missed by Mike and Theresa Goerk, Sharon Hickey and Brenda Burtch, Kevin, Jackie, Katrina, Brendan, Christopher, Alex, Jessica, Kenny, Thomas, Les,Cindy and Randy Everest.The family will received friends at the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home in Gravenhurst on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 2- 4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Pinegrove Fellowship Church, 295 Taylor Road, Bracebridge on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church, one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place at the Mickle Memorial Cemetery, Gravenhurst at 1:45 p. m. graveside.
