McWhirter, Keith George In his 61st year, Keith passed away unexpectedly at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Thursday, October 26, 2017 after a heroic and inspiring battle with lupus. Husband of 11 years to Mary, admired father to Josh (Lisa) and granddad to Joel. Beloved stepdad to Ashley, Lisa and David. Brother to John (Joy), Carol (Wayne), Al (Linda), Bruce (Nancy), Rob (Judy), Jo-Ann, Nancy (Jeremy) & Harold. Keith was an uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews whom he loved watching grow. A friend to so many. Coach to any youngster who had the courage to lace up a pair of skates or swing a bat. Keith will always be fondly remembered as "the guy in the skate room". In keeping with Keith's wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Keith's life will be held at the Graeme Murray Arena (the Terry Fox Room) on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. If so desired, donations in memory of Keith may be directed to the Gravenhurst Minor Hockey Association.
