Kimberley Anne Traycheff

March 12, 1963 — August 5, 2025

Severn

Kimberley Ann Traycheff passed away peacefully in her daughters arms on August 5, 2025, at Mariposa House Hospice in Severn, Ontario, with her family by her side.

She was predeceased by her beloved spouse, Mark Tanney, and her brother, Daniel Traycheff. Cherished mother of Kayla Marie Traycheff, proud grandmother to Autumn, Chloe, and Danielle Elson. She will be deeply missed by her brother Patrick Traycheff and his wife Karen, her niece Jessica Ramey (Brett) and their son Caleb, nephews Patrick Traycheff (Felicia) and Jacob Traycheff (Aliya), her son-in-law, Joshua Elson as well as her beloved Aunts, Myrna and Donna (Ross).

Kimberley’s career reflected her creativity and dedication—she worked as a florist at Plant World in Toronto before becoming an assistant manager at Mark’s in Orillia when she and her family moved away from the city. She had a passion for gardening and swimming, and she loved spending time at her cabin with her dear friends Laura, Terri, and Nickey.

Above all, Kimberley was a devoted mother and best friend to her daughter Kayla. As a single mom, she and Kayla shared a lifetime of treasured moments: nightly bike rides to the park, Saturday movie nights with panzerottis and a trip to Blockbuster, ice cream and chili cheese dogs at DQ, and summers spent at their trailer, filled with friends' family and laughter. Even after Kayla grew up, they shared morning coffees together before work and family swims and BBQs at Kimberley and Mark’s home. She was a loving and devoted grandmother, spending as much of her spare time as possible with her granddaughters. She often picked them up from school to go to the park or took them overnight to the cabin to enjoy swimming, campfires and adventure walks to find wildflowers.

When illness came, Kimberley moved to Gravenhurst to be closer to her family. Her strength, kindness, and joy for life never wavered, and she remained the wonderful, loving person she had always been.

She will be remembered forever with love, gratitude, and admiration.

Celebration of life to be held on September 6 from 11-2 at 115 skyway avenue Gravenhurst, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, please think about donating to the ALS society of Canada https://donate.als.ca/page/175529/donate/1
