Larry Lofthouse passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, after complications due to a hip replacement, with his wife, Sue, his stepson Dave Runham, and Dave’s wife, Laura, by his side.

After a rough life, Larry found the love of his life, Sue, at Muskoka Shores Care Community and asked her to marry him. To everyone’s surprise, the couple moved on from there to The Manor Retirement Home, and then a year later, they moved into a beautiful new apartment on their own. They had been living there since 2022 and had been very happy together.

Larry enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and walking his dog Myles, whom he loved almost as much as he loved Sue.

Larry is survived by his sisters, Linda Hunter, Sharon Douglas, and Barb Smith (Steve). He is predeceased by his parents, Shirley Morgan and Ronald Lofthouse; stepdad, Ted Morgan; and brothers, Glenn and Steve Lofthouse. He is also survived by Sue’s siblings, Arthur Herd (Ruth), and Shirley Kato (William).

Larry will be missed by all!

As per Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will be held.
