Madeline Mary Brownlee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 11, 2023, at Trillium Manor in Orillia. She was born on March 6, 1936, in St. John's, Newfoundland. Madeline was the beloved wife of Robert Brownlee. She was known for her kind heart, gentle nature, and unwavering love for her family.
As a devoted mother to Wade (Luauna), and Angela (Ron), and the late Barbara, Madeline cherished every moment spent with her children. She poured her love into nurturing them and creating a warm and loving home for her family. Her children remember her as someone who provided guidance and unconditional love throughout their lives, alongside a sense of humour and whit. Madeline's heart expanded even more when she became a grandmother to Tara, Melissa, Justin, Justine, Cody, Breeze, Sabrina, Hannah, and Korie. She showered them with affection and eagerly embraced the role of grandma. Madeline also had the privilege of being a great-grandmother to Brooklyn, Brayden, and Caleigh. After each new addition to the family, she would light up with joy at the opportunity to share in their lives and create new memories to cherish. Madeline also leaves behind her brothers, Tony (Linda), Larry (Betty). Proud aunt of Terry, Patty, Paul (Cindy), Deb (Bill), Toni (Jason), Patsy (G), Pam (Dan), and Joey. Great-aunt of Sydney. She will be dearly missed by her other extended family and friends back in St. John's, Newfoundland.
Madeline spent many years devoted to her career as a nurse’s assistant at the Martin Manor. She cherished the opportunity to provide care to her community members.
Madeline will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humour. She was a loving, yet feisty woman when it really mattered. She had no issue keeping everyone in line. Her memory will forever be cherished not only by her immediate family but also by extended relatives, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with such an extraordinary woman.
As we mourn the loss of Madeline, let us also celebrate the remarkable life she led. We honour her for the love she shared, the strength she embodied, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.
A special thank you to the staff at the Trillium Manor for their continued care, love, and support shown to Madeline and family.
