It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Margaret (Maggie) Martin, at Mariposa House in Severn.
Daughter of William and the late Marion Martin and sister of Larry Martin (Christina).
Maggie was predeceased by her husband Ken Doggett (Greg and Mindy and their children). She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Scott Schamehorn, and his wife Julie, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Tyson, Lydia, and Alice, who brought her immense pride and joy. She will be sadly missed by Jocelyn Beitz, David Jackson (Chris, Sean, and Todd and their children), Brian Sisler, and the Eck community.
Maggie lived with a contagious zest for life, always ready for an adventure, always eager to try something new. Her spirit was vibrant and joyful, and her presence brought warmth wherever she went. With a smile that could light up any room, she had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and welcomed.
A devoted steward of her faith, she lived her beliefs through action—serving others with quiet grace and a generous heart. Her dedication to her community through countless volunteer initiatives was a reflection of her selflessness; she gave her time, her energy, and her love freely, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved deeply and without hesitation. Her embraces—true to Maggie—were full of comfort, sincerity, and connection. To be in her presence was to feel cared for, uplifted, and truly known.
Her legacy is one of kindness, compassion, and wholehearted giving. She showed us all what it means to live fully, love deeply, and serve others with grace. Though she will be profoundly missed, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched and the community she so dearly loved.
A memorial service will be held at Cavill Funeral Home, Gravenhurst, on Thursday, April 2 at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour prior.
We would like to thank the team at Mariposa House in Severn for their compassion and kindness.
