Beloved wife of the late Joseph Earl Oster, Margaret was the loving mother of Marion J. Edwards and Colin E. Oster (Ruth), and the cherished grandmother of Kyla Brennan (Austin) and Sara Harrington (Adam). She was a proud great-grandmother to A.J., Evollee, and Eillee Brennan, and Maeve and Ty Harrington. She will be fondly remembered by her nephews and niece: Ross Thacker (Debbie), Stephen Thacker (Karen), Christine Parker (Robert), and Tony Thacker (Joan).
Margaret was predeceased by her son Michael Charles Oster, daughter-in-law Susan Oster, and her sisters Daphne Thacker and Joan Streeter.
Born in England, Margaret met the love of her life, Earl Oster, during the Second World War. They married when she was just 16 and, at the age of 20, she crossed the Atlantic as a war bride, bringing her 3-year-old child to begin a new life in Canada. Together, she and Earl built a home in Ontario, where they raised their family and created countless memories. In her nearly 100 years, Margaret experienced a remarkable life filled with love, resilience, and adventure.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Muskoka Shores for their dedicated and compassionate care.
In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held. Memorial contributions toThe Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
