Mathew William Cyril Foley, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 13, 2023, in Gravenhurst, Ontario. He was born on August 3, 1989. Mathew's passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Mathew will be remembered for his zest for life and his passion for spending time with his loved ones. His daughter Payton and his furry companion Obie brought him immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. Mathew's love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did.

Sports were a significant part of Mathew's life. Whether it was hockey, baseball, golf, cornhole, darts, pool or ATVing, he consistently found enjoyment in being active and competitive. Striving to excel in each endeavor, he approached sports with dedication and enthusiasm.

In addition to his love for sports, Mathew shared a deep affinity for nature. Fishing trips by serene lakeshores and thrilling hunting expeditions allowed him to connect with the great outdoors on a profound level. Boating and swimming were activities that further enhanced his appreciation for nature's beauty.

Mathew's infectious charisma drew people towards him effortlessly. He cherished the company of friends who surrounded him during good times and bad. Sharing laughter and creating memories together was important to him. Mathew made each gathering lively with his vibrant personality and genuine camaraderie.

Mathew’s pride and joy was his daughter Payton who he absolutely adored. His love for her knew no bounds and Payton will forever treasure the precious moments they shared together. Mathew will also be missed by Chantal (mother of Payton).

Mathew was the cherished son of Deyette and Howard Schell—a constant source of comfort and support throughout his journey. Their unwavering love shaped Mathew into the remarkable person he became.
Matt was the cherished grandson of Carole and the late Les Foley. The memory of Mathew's late grandfather will forever be cherished. Carole and Les hold a special place in Mathew's heart, and their wisdom and guidance influenced him greatly.

Matty worshiped his sister Maria Nelson and late brother John Foley. The 3 loved, laughed and argued like true siblings do, however their love for each other was undeniable and everlasting.

Matty also shared many memories with his brother in law Trevor Bouskill and sisters in law Karlie Larocque and Tara Foley and his step sibling Brandon Schell, Cheryl Schell (Chad). He found great comfort in spending time with them.

Mathew was a cherished uncle to Allie Robillard and Cole Robillard, but his unique bond with the twins flourish into a fatherly role. This also brought another dimension of love, support and pride into Mathew’s world.

Mathew was always happy to spend time in the pool with his niece Isabelle Bouskill, nephews Brock Foley and Emery Foley, Cj Bond and Harrison Bond. He also had a great connection with his step nephew Jake Bouskill (Sadie),

Leslie Barnes held a special place in Mathew's heart as his aunt. Her unwavering love and support comforted him when needed. Matty was not just a cousin to Mckenzie Barnes but more of a big brother; whenever they were together you could always hear laughter.

Brett McDonald (Allie) and Aidan Scott (Mckenzie) are the newest members to join the family. Matt quickly made them the newest victims of his jokes. They enjoyed just hanging out and shooting the breeze or playing any game they could get their hands on. A real bromance was brewing with these three.

Mathew's furry friend Obie will dearly miss his beloved companion. Their bond transcended words—an unspoken understanding that brought joy and comfort to both of them.
