Murray Lester Byer

BYER, Murray Lester—passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Aake Byer.

Murray is survived by his sons, Randy Byer (Janice), and Rodney Byer (Tracy). Grandfather to Megan Byer. Dear brother-in-law of Paul Vanda-tuin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family.

Murray was a simple man. He enjoyed things like fishing, and he loved the outdoors. He also was very fond of radio-controlled planes. Anyone who knew him would describe him as friendly, and he would help anyone who needed it.

A memorial service to honour a well-lived life will be held at Cavill Funeral Home on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 1:00pm. Memorial donations made to the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be arranged online, or through Cavill Funeral Home.
