Stephens, Naomi (nee Griffiths) – Peacefully, on Thursday, May 29, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Stephens and cherished mother of Angie Stephens (Kelvin), Shannon Raymer and Ellen Gowland (Michael). Loving grandmother to Meagan Francis (Mathew), Brandon Stephens, Payton Raymer (Kristina), Ava Raymer, William Gowland and Mikayla Gowland and great-grandmother to Anthony Francis, Kaidyn Stephens and Winter Francis. Naomi leaves behind her sister Lynn Murray and many nieces and nephews whom she cherished deeply.
A vibrant and generous woman, Mom gave her all to everyone she knew and welcomed every stranger with open arms and a warm hug. To know her was to love her. The family wishes to thank the incredible staff of doctors and nurses in the Palliative Care unit at Southlake, in particular Dr. Liauw, Fidan, Tanya and Rachel. Your kindness and compassion during her stay with you is greatly appreciated. A Memorial Mass for Naomi will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Gravenhurst, ON.
Reception to follow in the church hall followed by an interment in Mickle Cemetery.
