Norman Merchant

Norman Dennis Merchant Member of Golden Rule Masonic Lodge #409 Former Owner/Operator of N. Merchant Ltd. Suddenly at his home in Gravenhurst with his family at his side on Sunday, March 11th, 2012, in his 71st year. Beloved husband to Jeanne Parker. Beloved father to Sharon Hunter Aiken (George Aiken) of Port Carling and David Merchant (Alison Bates) of Port Carling. Step-father to Richard Green (Kelly) of Gravenhurst. Norm is predeceased by his son Michael Merchant in 2009 and by his step-son Rodger Green in 2008. Norm is survived by his sister Bev Commandant of Gravenhurst. Loving grandfather to Crossley Hunter of Kelowna, B.C. and step-grandfather of Shannan and Tanner Green of Gravenhurst. Norm is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Norm's wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering for family and friends to share memories will take place at the Grace and Speed Boat & Heritage Centre, 275 Steamship Bay Rd. at Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst on Saturday, March 24th,. 2012 from 1:00 until 2:00 at which time a service to celebrate the life of Norman Dennis Merchant will take place. In memory donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
