With heavy hearts, we share that Norm passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 11th, 2025 at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa, Ontario.
Dear husband of Margaret "Peggy" (Budgeon) Lapierre of Oshawa. Loving father to Andre (Andrea Girvan) Lapierre of Toronto and Yvette (Rob) Davidson of French River, and grandfather to Naomi, Xavier and Eli Lapierre. Brother to Yolande Giroux (late Jean) of Sturgeon Falls, Solange Rochon (late Armand) of Sturgeon Falls, Murielle Tessier (late Armand) of Sudbury, Léonie Bedard (Aldé) of Sudbury, Bernadette Prevost (late George) of Sudbury, Carmelle St. Louis (Laurier) of Sudbury, Johanne Lapierre of Sudbury, Gaétan Lapierre of Ile Perrot, Quebec, Hélène Bertrand (Ron) of Stoney Creek, Jacinthe Dakin (Maurice) of Espanola. Predeceased by his sister Marie-Ann Lapierre, his parents Armand and Desneiges Lapierre, brother Joseph Lapierre (Huguette), and sister Annette Lalonde (late Félix) of Sudbury. Will be missed by Margaret's family, many nieces and nephews on both the Lapierre and Budgeon side, as well as the many friends in Gravenhurst and Oshawa.
Norm was born in Hagar, Ontario and grew up on the family dairy farm. Norm attended Cambrian College and received an Electronic Technologist diploma, and worked his 35-year career at Ontario Power Generation as a Protection and Control Technologist.
Norm volunteered for many years with Gravenhurst Winter Carnival, 1st Gravenhurst Scouts - including the project to build a new Scout Hall in Gravenhurst, Power Squadron, St. James Anglican Church, as well as many other organizations in Gravenhurst. Norm was also an annual supporter of the Parkinson's Superwalk in Gravenhurst and Oshawa, had a love for woodworking, renovations, travelling, boating, and RV’ing. Norm was an avid supporter of World Vision.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2025, at 11 AM at St. George's Memorial Anglican Church (51 Centre Street, Oshawa, Ontario), with a reception to follow. A celebration of life will also be held in Gravenhurst in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Baycrest Hospital Foundation (Toronto)(https://baycrestfoundation.org/) or St. George's Memorial Anglican Church (Oshawa) (https://stgeorgesoshawa.org/).
