ROWE, ORVIL
Peacefully at Parkwood Veterans Hospital, London, Ontario 2 months short of his 100th birthday on Saturday, March 9th, 2019.
Orvill was a lifelong resident of Gravenhurst until recently, and was active for years in many town activities. A proud lifetime member of the Gravenhurst Legion, Gravenhurst United Church, Gravenhurst Seniors Centre and Power Squadron. He served as trustee for the Muskoka Beach School Board. He was proud of the house he built and his garden on the corner of the Beach Road and Old Muskoka Road. He was one of the longest serving employees of Rubberset. His hobbies included woodworking and wedding photography. He took many local pictures still used today. WE considered him a Gravenhurst/Muskoka Pioneer, one of the last of his Generation.
Orvil was predeceased by his beloved wife Millie, his son Ron and daughter-in-law Cindy. He will always be lovingly remembered by his daughter Cheryl, son-in-law Steve Ballantyne, granddaughter Sherry, grandson Rick and great-granddaughter Victoria, along with several nieces and a nephew.
According to Dad's wishes cremation has taken place and the family has planned an interment of ashes on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at 11:00am, with reception to follow at the Gravenhurst Seniors Centre.
Our heartfelt thanks to the caring, compassionate and dignified staff of Oxford Manor in Ingersoll as well as at Parkwood Veterans Hospital. Thank you for caring for our Dad as if he as your own.
