Paul Brian Matthews - After a lengthy illness and stay in the hospital, Paul Brian Matthews passed away peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in his 72nd year. Beloved husband to Laura Marie Carson of Bracebridge. Beloved father to Paul Jonathan "PJ" Matthews (Jenny) of Bracebridge and Lisa Dawn Marie Matthews (Phil) of Wellington County. Beloved grandfather to Marissa, Joshua, Blake and Brynlee. Beloved life-long partner for 35+ years and the mother of his children, Donna Matthews of Toronto. Paul was predeceased by his two sisters Gloria and Marlene. He was a fighter of many battles, lover of nature, story teller and had a sense of humor that would make anyone laugh. A kind, caring man to anyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all and the happier, healthier times will always be remembered and cherished.

In keeping with Paul's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A gathering for family and friends to visit and share memories will be held at the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home in Gravenhurst on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 11:00 a. m. until 12:30 p. m. Messages of condolence may be left at www.cavillfuneralhome.com
