It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Pauline Elizabeth Rakacky, who passed away surrounded by her loving family at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
Pauline was the devoted and beloved wife of Louis, and a loving mother to Kirsten, Kaitlyn, and Kylie. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Nathan and Stormos, who brought her endless joy. She was the cherished daughter of Ruby and Samuel Curry, a dear sister to Noel and Dave, and a loving aunt to Alexus, Andrew, Monika, Kyle, Liam, and Ilana, along with her extended family and many dear friends.
Pauline will be remembered for her fiery spirit, incredible work ethic, and her wonderful sense of humour that could brighten any room. She was generous to a fault and found great joy in giving thoughtful gifts to those she loved. She was often the life of the party, making those around her laugh with her quick wit and vibrant personality.
She had a deep love for her family, especially her grandsons, who meant the world to her. Pauline loved listening to oldies music, especially Elvis Presley, and Christmas was her favourite time of year, bringing her immense happiness. She also enjoyed spending countless hours rug hooking beautiful pillows for family members, creating treasured keepsakes that will be cherished for years to come. In quieter moments, she could often be found happily playing Candy Crush on her phone.
Pauline’s love, laughter, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
