Phyllis Williams

April 7, 1916 — April 22, 2015

WILLIAMS, Phyllis Ada (nee Fullerton) - On April 22, 2015, in her 100th year, peacefully in Gravenhurst surrounded by her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Glen (GG) Williams, devoted mother of Lynda Dyball (Terry), Phillip (Leslie) and Barbara Bromwich (Tim). Proud Nana of Jessica, Allison, John, Tara, Glen, Ashley, Derek, Jeffrey and Sarah. Great-Nana of Matthew, Hannah, Olivia, Brendan, Caleb, Isaac, Charlotte and Quinn. Dear sister of the late Maude Greenwood and Alvin Fullerton. Phyllis devoted her life to caring for her family and volunteering to help make life better for others. She volunteered hours of typing when ‘The Pines' seniors' residence in Bracebridge was being built in 1960, ordering everything that went into it. Her work included serving as President of the Parent Teachers' Association, as the first Education Chair in Gravenhurst for the Canadian Cancer Society and as a volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Assoc., on the Save Our Station (SOS) committee as well as on the Trinity United Church Board for many years. She believed that churches had a good influence on young people and believed that a good education was paramount. In her elder years she gave generously to the Rotary Fund for Education in order to support students in Gravenhurst who could not afford a higher education. Phyllis was loved and admired for her wisdom and insight. A celebration of Phyllis's life will be held at the Gravenhurst Seniors' Centre, 480 First Street North on Saturday April 25 from 1 - 3 p.m. Visitation will be held from 12 - 1 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded to the family through
