Raymond Smith

SMITH, Raymond Edward After a very brief illness, Raymond Edward Smith passed away peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Friday October 21, 2016 with his daughter Brea, son Clayton and their mother Gloria at his side. Raymond was the proud father of Shannon French (Dan French) of Saskatchewan, Clayton Smith of Gravenhurst and Brea Smith (Terry Dacosta) of Woodstock. He was also the proud Godfather of Robin Kelln Kouji (Briesk Kouji) of Barrie. Raymond leaves behind four sisters; Marilyn Schell, Hildur Bartlett (Mike Bartlett), Barbara Decaire and Karen Cameron and many nieces and nephews. Raymond is predeceased by his mother and father Caroline (nee Shay) and Raymond Smith (Sr.), two brothers Robin Smith and Robert Smith and two sisters Hilma Baikie and Diane Armstrong. Raymond will be sadly missed by his faithful dog Corky, whom he considered his baby. Raymond was 71 years of age at the time of passing. His family and friends will forever remember the contagious laugh and infectious smile he possessed when amongst family and friends. He considered his children his greatest accomplishment. He will be missed and always loved. The family will receive friends at the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home in Gravenhurst on Tuesday October 25, 2016 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday October 26, 2016 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place at the Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery, in Huntsville on Wednesday at 3:00pm graveside
