IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley Gladys
Stokes
September 18, 1931 – January 26, 2026
Shirley Stokes passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 61 years, Albert Stokes, who predeceased her in 2017.
Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her sons Bruce (Jocelyn) and David, as well as her treasured grandson Blair, with whom she shared many special moments. Time spent with Blair - whether enjoying Muskoka’s natural beauty or relaxing together as a family - brought Shirley tremendous joy throughout her life.
Some of Shirley’s fondest memories were made during summers at Allenwood Beach in the Collingwood area, as well as Muskoka, where she and her family spent many vacations surrounded by sunshine, shoreline, and laughter.
She was a steadfast Toronto Maple Leaf hockey fan for all of her 94 years, faithfully enduring the team’s many highs and lows across the decades.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Sheena Jonker, Shirley’s Personal Support Worker, whose dedicated care and companionship over the last eight and a half years provided comfort and support that will never be forgotten.
Shirley will be laid to rest beside her husband Albert at the Mickle Memorial Columbarium in Gravenhurst, where they will be together once again.
