Sue was a signular person who lived life on her own terms. She clearly was destined for a life of travel and adventure. Sue was born in Calgary, and spent her childhood moving about with her family before they settled in Toronto in the 1970s. It was then that Sioux came into her own, becoming the sweet and generous person we all knew and loved. She loved fun, as evidenced by her decision as a teenager to spell her name Sioux, to be different from and any all different Sue’s.

The fun continued in her years spent living on a boat at Toronto Island Marina, where many life-long friendships were formed, and she adopted her beloved dog, Naomi. She spent a few years running a B&B in Orillia, and her passion for being a good host made staying at The Panorama memorable for all. Life then took Sue to Bracebridge, then Gravenhurst, where she spent many happy years. Happily, she was able to reconnect with family in and around the Golden Lake area.

Her clusters of friends remember so many wonderful things about her. Sue loved books and bunnies, and pink drinks, and was never happier than when she could find the perfect greeting card to send at the perfect moment. She was kind and thoughtful, had a healthy obssesion with Kurt Russell, and loved gadgets, not just for herself, but for sending to friends in need or just for fun.

Sue loved keeping busy, joining PROBUS, playing euchre, going to the movies, alone or with friends, taking road trips for no particular reason, spending Christmas with friends, and generally making life better for all who knew her. Her friends, their children and grandchildren, meant the world to her. Her light will shine for us always.
