Ursula Martha Babcock passed away at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in her 83rd year. Ursula was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, humour, and kindness touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Ursula leaves behind her cherished children, Kevin Babcock (Julie Graham) and Daniel Babcock (Stephanie Babcock), who were her pride and joy. She was a devoted grandmother to Logan, Teron, Heather, and Kristy, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Ursula is also survived by her brother, Vern Eckert, with whom she shared many treasured memories.
A woman of many interests, Ursula found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading and spent countless peaceful hours gardening, nurturing both flowers and friendships along the way. Her fondness for crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles reflected her sharp mind and patience - qualities she carried through every chapter of her life.
Ursula enjoyed a fulfilling career, first in Real Estate, where she connected with people from all walks of life, and later serving as a Bar Steward at the Bala Legion. She also generously volunteered her time at the Gravenhurst Legion, helping with special events and supporting her community in meaningful ways. Her dedication extended to her work as Past President of the Gravenhurst Winter Carnival, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and pride.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Ursula during her time there.
In honour of her community spirit and lifelong support of veterans, memorial contributions may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 302 -Gravenhurst.
Ursula will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
