TAYLOR, Vernon Douglas "Vern" Passed away peacefully at his home in Houseys Rapids, surrounded by family, on Saturday, October, 24th, 2015 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Barbara Taylor formerly Petersen (nee Holloway) and the late Barbara Taylor (nee Churchill). Loving father of Kim Taylor (Dodie), Christopher Taylor (Carol Rose) and Andrew Taylor (Ann-Marie). Stepfather of Kim Petersen (Pegi) and Vagn Petersen. Cherished grandfather of Matthew (Victoria), Melanie (Steve), Stephanie, Stephen, Gillian, Aiden and Elijah. Great grandfather of Sadie, Emma and Kaitlyn. Vern will be dearly missed by his extended family. Pre deceased by his parents Alfred and Lydia Taylor and his sister Ellen (Ostin) Bush. In keeping with Vern's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 28th, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. at Cavill-Turner Funeral Home, 215 Bay Street, Gravenhurst. The memorial service will take place on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 3314 Quetton Street, Washago. Burial to take place following the service at Barkway Cemetery, 1409 Barkway Road, Gravenhurst. Reception to follow at Ryde Community Centre, 1624 Barkway Road, Gravenhurst.
