Wayne Patrick Forsythe It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Patrick Forsythe announces his sudden passing at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in his 70th year after a valiant battle with cancer. Wayne was the second eldest son to Doreen Forsythe (nee Burkin) and the late Hugh Forsythe of Gravenhurst. Beloved partner to Anne Powlesland of Bracebridge. Much adored da/dad of Cherie and Sean (Trish) and will be remembered by Anne's children Cindy (Chris) and the late Dominic. Beloved brother of Keith (Pat), Neil (Margie), Roy (Karen), Linda (Stuart), Mike (Wendy), Jackie (Ian), Gail, Carol (Steve) and Colleen (Denis). Wayne will be remembered by his former wife Dianne. Wayne was a treasured "Grandpa" to Sadie and Max, and to Anne's grandchildren; Brenna, Ryan and Jacob. "Special Uncle" to Becky and Thomas and to his 12 nieces and nephews and great uncle to 12 great nieces and nephews. Wayne will fondly remembered and forever missed by his special friend Brian and by Liz, Rick, Keith, Margaret and Stella and the TRC team and by the many foster children he mentored. Wayne was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed and participated in all sports but hockey and baseball were his passion. He found great joy umpiring at local baseball games. He will always be remembered as a caring person one who always found the time to lend a helping hand. He always had time to explain a call to a player, to offer his help to enhance a players game either by offering them encouragement or by simply offering a comforting smile and an laugh! He obtained a great deal of satisfaction from coaching the young players and encouraging them to strive and reach their goals. Wayne will be deeply missed by the hockey curling and baseball communities. "There are some who bring a light into the world that even after they have gone the light remains" That person was Wayne. The family wishes to offer a special thank you to Muskoka E.M.S. and to all the wonderful nurses at R.V.H., Sunnybrook, Algonquin and Bracebridge hospitals. A gathering to celebrate the life of Wayne Patrick Forsythe will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #302, Gravenhurst on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. with tributes and eulogies beginning at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sick Children's Hospital , the Muskoka Children's Foundation or Simply perform a kind deed for someone.
