It is with sadness that the family of William George Cannon announce his passing on June 28, 2026, at the age of 86.

William was the beloved husband of Jane Sylvia Bradford. He was a proud and loving father to Robert, Richard (April), and Gregory, and a cherished stepfather to Valerie and Jason Bradford. He will be fondly remembered by his 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

William is survived by his brother Donald Cannon (Liz), sisters-in-law Carol Foley, Pat Cousins, and Debra Wickett (Tom), and brother-in-law Roger Barnes, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Agnes Cannon, and many relatives and dear friends who have gone before him.

Born and raised in Toronto, William attended technical school before beginning a successful career with The Beer Store, where he served as both a Store Manager and District Manager. Throughout his working life, he was respected for his dedication, leadership, and ability to connect with people.

William never met a stranger. He loved a good party, enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, and was well known for his gift of conversation. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or advice, he had a way of making people feel welcome and valued. He enjoyed sports, travelling, and creating memories with those he loved. Most of all, he will be remembered as a caring, generous, and giving person who was always ready to lend a helping hand.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Spencer House for their compassionate care, kindness, and support.

Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside gathering will be held at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka or The Friends, 27 Forest Street, Parry Sound, and would be appreciated by the family.

William's warmth, kindness, and love of life will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
