William Ronald Doherty passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 20, 2026, in his 78th year.

Ron will be sadly missed by his dear friend Pat Greenwood, who so lovingly cared for him during his illness; by his sons Alex, Eric, and Steve (Jillian); and by his grandsons Liam, Oscar, and Declan. Ron will also be sadly missed by his sister Janet Kennedy.

Ron proudly spent over 30 years with the Toronto Transit Commission, where he worked as both a driver and an instructor before retiring.

An avid outdoorsman, Ron’s favourite pastime was camping — as often as possible. He especially loved spending time at the cottage on Lake Muskoka. A natural builder and fixer, he found great satisfaction in constructing and renovating homes. In his later years, he could often be found enjoying a cold drink in his garage, a place that brought him comfort and peace.
