Connie Shirley (Bell) Taylor

September 5, 1933 ~ August 9, 2022 (age 88) 88 Years Old


TAYLOR, Constance “Connie” Shirley – Passed away at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, with loved ones at her side. She was in her 89th year. Connie was the beloved wife of the late Morris Taylor (1982). Loving mother of Brenda Taylor, Patricia Pollington, Pamela Denne (Steven), and Sandra Taylor (Rob McLean).

Cherished grandmother of Kristen, Danielle, Torin, Keith, Adrienne, Taylor, Trent, Kyle, and Courtney. Great grandmother of Keira, Larry, Alyssa, Isabel, Abby, Teagan, Olivia, Annabel, Teagan, Morgan, Madison, Brooke, William, Jordan, and Karter. 

Connie was born in Derby, New Brunswick and moved to Huron County in her late teens where she later met and married the love of her life, Morris Taylor. They raised their four daughters on a farm before following Morris’s dream to own a motel and moving to Muskoka. After Morris’s passing Connie sold the motel and relocated to Gravenhurst where she became very involved volunteering at the Royal Canadian Legion, Seniors Centre, and Muskoka Beechgrove Public School. For the past thirteen years she enjoyed the company of her friends and neighbors at Lofty Pines Seniors Apartments. 


A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 25 , 1-4 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 302, Bethune Drive, Gravenhurst, ON. Interment will be on Saturday, September 3rd, 2 pm in Bairds Cemetery, Bluewater Township, Clinton, ON. Reception to follow at Varna Pavillion.


Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
