George Christoper Allen Brady

December 7, 1946 - June 14, 2022

Known around town as “the guy in the hat,” OG cowboy George Brady passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, peacefully gazing into his daughter’s eyes beneath the strawberry moon in Muskoka, surrounded by love.

Firstborn son of the late—and fabulous—Al and Crystal Brady, George is survived by his devoted wife and anam ċara of 40 years, Nathalia Brady, doting daughters Rebekah Branconnier (Pierre) and Krissy Brady, and an extensive cowboy hat collection.

He was a proud Poppy to his stepkids Sheri, David, and Cheryl Fallis, and had a deep adoration for his grandchildren Willow Robinson, Alyssa and Natalie Fallis, Kaitlyn Boisvert, and grandcat Louie.

There are no words for how much he’ll be missed by his siblings Linda Rutherford (Bill), Wayne Brady (Anna), Sharon Kranenburg, and Brian Brady (Lauri).

The most important things to George were family and legacy. He held his nieces and nephews Kelly Rutherford Teeuwsen, Rob Rutherford (Mel), Nathan Brady, Nicole Pandell (Mack), and Kyle Brady (Sarah) in high regard and always knew they’d make a serious impact on the world.

What Rebekah will miss most about her dad were how his hugs would make you believe everything really will be okay, somehow. Then there was his wit. His sarcasm. The touching sincerity in which he thanked her for giving him an intelligent, stunning, witty granddaughter of his very own, Kaitlyn.

As for Krissy, she’ll miss his aversion to the status quo, campfires at the KOA, spending entire afternoons in bookstores, going to auctions and searching for treasure, spontaneous road trips (her ears are still ringing from his need to play Dwight Yoakam full blast), his impeccable taste in movies, the duckface he’d make when deep in thought, and his unwavering belief that his daughters can do anything. (And we will. For you.)

There’s a passage in his favourite book that says in difficult times, you should always keep something beautiful in your heart—so that is where he’ll be.

Ah, I’d love to wear a rainbow every day

And tell the world that everything’s okay

But I’ll try to carry off a little darkness on my back

‘Til things are brighter, I’m the Man In Black

Dec. 7 1946 - June 14 2022

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of George Brady. After several months of declining health; our beloved passed away peacefully at Andy’s House - Hospice Muskoka on June 14 2022, with family by his side.

George was the proud father of Rebekah and Krissy Brady and grandfather to Kaitlin.

He is survived by his loving partner of 20 years-Bonnie Brooks, his devoted grand daughter Ashleigh (Josh) Hendrycks, and cherished great grandfather ”Papa” to Abbie and Isaac.

George leaves his indelible love with his brothers, sisters and many dear friends.

He was loved by his step children; Terrie-Lynn (Shannon) Robinson, Amanda Townsend and pre deceased Joseph Brooks. George will be remembered by his step grandchildren; Jassmine, Cody, Caidie, Kinslee, Karli, Trent and Kaleigh.

George was a carpenter by trade for many years, who was a hard worker and always needed to keep busy. So much so; that he couldn’t handle retirement and developed a love for buying, selling and trading at auctions with his buddies in his most recent years.

George was a laid back, free spirit who loved to be outdoors as much as he could. He was always talking about sitting out on the front porch in his rocking chair with a shot gun in hand, wearing one of his many cowboy hats of course! He was the best of both worlds in the fact that he was a fierce Irish man, who was also a go with the flow type guy.

Everybody who knew George, knew him as an extremely kind and gentle soul who would do anything for anybody he cared about.

“We love you more” Papa George.

A celebration of life will be held in the near future. Memorial donations to Andy’s House - Hospice Muskoka in Port Carling would be greatly appreciated.
