Obituary
McCLELLAN, Joyce Marie (nee Young) – Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 1, 2021, in Kilworthy, at the age of 87.
Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Kenneth “Ken” McClellan, who had predeceased Joyce in 2017. Cherished and deeply missed by her family, Joyce was mother of Stephen (Kristine), Cheryl (Dale), Scott (Kim), and the late Suzanne (David). Dear grandmother of Thomas, Zoe, William, Alexandra, and Sophie. Loving sister of Gloria, late Lois, Olive, late Sharon, Harvey, Shelby, late George, Laura, Roger, and Margaret. Stepdaughter of Phoebe.
Joyce’s wisdom, compassion, and deep sense of community and care for the world touched so many. She was a community leader in fundraising for many important causes locally and internationally and an active member of her local United Church, serving as its Treasurer for decades. Her wit and sense of humour brought laughter, her writing and poetry explored insights and interests, and her creativity was boundless.
With deepest gratitude from the family to Lynne, who provided in-home care this past year.
In keeping with Joyce’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
