Sharon Simcoe

Sharon Lee Simcoe (Wyman)

September 13, 1946 – April 16, 2023

Sharon passed away at her home, on Sunday April 16, 2023, after a lengthy illness of cardiovascular disease.

She is predeceased by her parents William Donald Wyman and Helen Avrille Wyman (nee Lowcock) and her husband Thomas Eric Simcoe. She is survived by her daughter Heather and her husband Mike Barnes; her daughter Erica Battistini (nee Simcoe) and her partner Chris Thomas; her grandchildren Thomas and Quentin Battistini; her lifelong friend and sister-in- law Judith Noeckel and the rest of the extended Simcoe family, as well as Thomas and Quentin’s extended Battistini family in Vancouver BC. Sharon also leaves behind her constant companion Mya, her beloved Siamese cat.

Sharon was born and raised in Gravenhurst. She was active in a great many different social groups and the local Legion over many years. Her last job was for Sander Motors for 25 years before retiring as her health started failing. In the fall of 2011, she was diagnosed with multiple aortic aneurysms, which led to her death this year. The Sander family was instrumental in supporting her and allowing her to continue to work at reduced hours after her first incident.

As an avid reader, Sharon’s favourite place was the Gravenhurst Public Library. The staff has been extremely generous with their assistance as her health started to fade. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to our Gravenhurst Public Library.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
